I would totally do this, but haven't yet. Saw some great trails for it in Golden, CO recently that I plan to check out.
I'm an aspiring road cyclist, having so far only used my road bike to commute to work or find pretty weekend rides, but never participating in anything longer. The day will come!
I've been a runner for 10 years, starting as a sprinter in high school and now working to gain endurance in longer distances as an adult. I've faced a few setbacks from injuries and work schedule, but I remain loyal and addicted. I ran the Ragnar from Miami to Key West a few years back, which was a very inspiring and jovial experience that I will definitely be doing again in this lifetime!
I've been riding for 10 years, typically averaging only 2-3 days a year. I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to live in Steamboat Springs, CO during the 2013-2014 season, which really helped me to advance. I now enjoy glades, big jumps, and the park. I want to learn to ski, but can never seem to sacrifice a day of riding in order to take a lesson! I trust that it'll happen eventually. :)
I've climbed indoors a few times and really liked it, but currently I'm dealing with a fractured toe so my aspirations to learn more have been delayed. But life is long, and I'll get on that horse eventually!
Hiking is very meditative for me. I like to do hybrid trail running/hiking when I need to clear my mind. I also enjoy going with good friends as it seems clarity of thought and genuine conversation is easily achieved at higher elevations. Most rewarding hike ever was at Powder Mountain in Utah, where at the top I got to snowboard a cliff trail that appeared to never have been touched prior. Rad!
I would try motor biking. With long sleeves and LOTS of padding, and in a designated space for it.
Surfing! I've always been a mountain person, growing up in CO, but during travels I've learned to surf. At first it was an all-out battle between the ocean and I, but I've learned to surrender, rather than fight. It'll be a lifelong pursuit to perfect, but I love the workout and the vulnerability of being out in the ocean. I've attempted kiteboarding too, and hope to get to try it again someday.
I stay fit in body because it brings life and mind benefits - health, like-minded people, and hopefully longevity! I lift to heal and prevent injuries, am currently deepening my yoga practice of eight years, and enjoy zumba, hip hop, and salsa dancing. I've been considering trying boxing, and have humbly tried out some capoeira classes recently. :)
