Hey y'all! I work with a group called Conservation Colorado. We're working to protect parts of the Continental Divide region of Colorado, in Summit and Eagle counties. One piece of that is a new addition to the Ptarmigan Peak Wilderness.

My colleagues are organizing several hikes to check out the proposed protected areas, and it'd be awesome to see some of you all out there to join us! Here's the info from our coalition website about this cool hike to explore the proposed addition to the Ptarmigan Peak Wilderness:

Join us for a hike to explore the proposed addition to the Ptarmigan Wilderness Area. Upon leaving the trailhead we’ll ascend through sagebrush meadows and aspen forests keeping an eye out for a variety of birds and other wildlife. As we climb toward the ridge of the Williams Fork Range we’ll notice damage from the recent bark beetle epidemic and the rejuvenation of the ecosystem all while having fabulous views of the Gore Range. This hike will be 6 miles in length.
