Let's do the Cotopaxi Questival!
Cotopaxi is an awesome gear manufacturer that puts on 24 hour adventure race (a.k.a. Questival) in several cities each year. And this year, there's a race in Denver!
What is it and how does it work?
It's a 24-hour adventure race in the Denver area!
Participants sign up in teams of 2-6 people (I have not yet registered, but once I have an idea of interest level, I'll create a team and folks can register there).
Basically, the idea is to complete all sorts of awesome assigned challenges and activities, to help you explore the outdoors and your community, over the 24-hour race period.
24 hours before the race starts, the list of challenges is emailed out to all teams, so teams can meet and plot out their plan for completing the challenges.
There's a check-in party, which I think is the day before the race but I'm not sure, where participants pick up race materials and just have a grand old time hanging out with other adventurers in the area.
When is it?
The race is May 13-14, and starts at the DPAC sculpture lawn.
How much does it cost?
Registration for the race is $30 (will increase to $33 sometime in March), which includes a Cotopaxi Luzon backpack ($35 value) and "race swag," which the website defines as "stickers, tattoos, and more." So it's a great deal!
I was reading some reviews of some of the Questivals from last year, and it sounds like there may be additional expenses to complete the challenges during the race (for example, race participants in last year's Salt Lake City race had to travel to Arches National Park for one of the challenges). So there will probably be some additional costs for travel and race activities.
There's also the possibility of winning awesome prizes and trips from sponsors...

Be sure to watch the video on the first page and read the reviews on the second page - if they don't make you want to participate, I don't know what will!
